Órgão constituído no Concelho de Olhão a 1 de junho de 1927, em observância do disposto no ponto 1º do artigo 19º do Decreto nº 12.477 de 12 de outubro de 1926 que promoveu a reorganização geral dos serviços de Saúde Pública. Esta junta ocupava-se da salubridade do Concelho e de tudo o quanto importasse à higiene.
A 9 de junho de 1937, em respeito ao artigo 95º do Código Administrativo de 1936 a Junta de Higiene Municipal, altera o seu nome para Comissão Municipal de Higiene.
